Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. She started her career as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. When she was a kid, Helen Keller was her favorite character in a 5th class production. Mumps caused her to be blind and deaf in the one ear. But she did not allow this hinder her progress as an actor. At college, she was a theatre student and then moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in the lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. When she moved from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land films to play. An supporting role was found for Swing Shift. Since then Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of series and television films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
